Travelling by train with the Gocycle G3 electric bike

Reviewers of the Gocycle G3 can’t agree on whether the e-bike is foldable, collapsable or demountable.

But they do tend to talk about it being stowable, as in easy to tuck away on a boat or in a car, rather than portable, as in easy to take with you on a journey.

So in another video aimed at showing what it’s like to use electric bikes in daily life, we’ve taken a ride on a London overground train to demonstrate how straightforward it is. You will need an extra piece of kit to do it – the Kit Bag from Gocycle. This folds up small and can be stashed in your backpack etc when not needed. It’s designed to carry the wheels and seat on your shoulder while you’re holding the frame of the bike.

One thing that does help is to practise the steps of taking the wheels and seat off, plus folding the handlebars and frame. Once you’ve done it a few times it becomes automatic and takes about a minute and a half.
